A
Alerts Functionality
To show an alert in the form of a signal in the data
(highlighted red) or a telephone call to the clinician/patient when data
is shown to be outside of the expected range for a particular patient.
E
Employer Feedback
The Occupational Health System has the functionality
to produce a quarterly report of employee trends (all anonymous), which
are tailored to the needs of the employer.
Energy Monitor
Sophisticated product which monitors energy use 24
hours a day through posture, gait and movement of the user. Connect to
PC and download data to obtain graph of data and feedback as to total
energy expenditure throughout the day.
F
Falls Prevention
Technology which through sophisticated algorithms learns
the natural gait and posture of the patient and alerts when these natural
movements are replaced by uncharacteristic movement which could, if unnoticed,
lead to a fall. Also known as True Preventative Intelligence (TPI) Technology.
M
Medication Prompts
A system which prompts the patient when medication
is due. Details of drug, dose and schedule are controlled by a remote
clinician.
Medication Management
A system which enables prescription of medication and
changes of schedule to be made by a clinician in a location remote to
the patient.
Multi-User System
A single system onto which many users can be registered
and use for vital signs monitoring.
P
Personal Alarms
Compact wearable systems which are carried by the patient
at all times so that if a fall does occur or the patient feels unwell
or disorientated and feels they need help they can press the alarm button
to initiate a response.
PreventaFall Monitor
A small wearable device which is able to predict the
tendency to fall through ambulatory rhythms created by the service user.
Therefore through clinical monitoring of events such as stumbles or spells
of dizziness the clinical team have the power to intervene prior to a
fall occurring.
R
Remote Clinician Access
To enable a trained clinician to access patient data
via a secure web portal from a location, remote to the patient.
Report Functionality
All Telemedcare systems have the functionality to create
an individual report based upon the patient/users data. There are two
types of report: clinical and health check. The report created depends
upon the system being used.
Results Feedback
All measurements taken on Telemedcare units can be
viewed immediately on the unit and after synchronisation on the web portal.
S
Single User System
A system which is used solely by one person, this is
likely to be located in the person’s home.
T
Telecare
The use of sensors and detectors within the home to
detect alerts. When an alert is raised the central unit in the home dials
out to a response center. The response center have telephone access to
the person at home and they decide what action is required in response
to the alert raised.
Telecare Sensors (Social Alarms)
A framework of support which can be put into a persons
home to support them in their daily activities. The support is based
around small sensors which have the functionality to be alarmed by the
person if required but can also detect things which may cause harm to
the person such as a rapid increase in heat, a gas leak, a flood. When
these sensors are activated they automatically raise an alarm to the
response center or designated person.
Telehealth
Combining the use of medical technology to
monitor vital signs with educational tools to empower people to become
expert managers of their personal health. Involves monitoring of health
trends over time and can be used to provide solutions to many settings
such as: chronic disease management, falls prevention and private health
monitoring. Telehealth encourages people to learn about their pesonal
health, so enabling people to stay 'well' for longer.
Telemedicine
Use of telecommunications technology for medical diagnosis
and patient care when the provider and client are separated by distance.
Telemedicine includes pathology, radiology, and patient consultation
from the distance.
V
Vital Signs Monitoring
To observe measurement of the vital signs (heart rate,
blood pressure, lung function, blood oximetry, body mass, blood glucose
and temperature) from the human body.
W
Work-Life Balance Questionnaires
There are a range of questionnaires which are used
by Telemedcare as a supplement to our systems. They are medically recognised
questionnaires which are used to gain a full picture of physical health,
mental health and work-Life balance. |
